# AP54 Seeing Alpha — lodgement of 13 September 2026 (draft, not locked)

**The 420 Code · Studio G · a dated lodgement of a DRAFT. Not a publication of the paper.**

**This lodgement records a draft.** When it was written on the morning of 13 September 2026, AP54
Seeing Alpha was at v0.16 — not locked, not armed, not frozen — and the nine digests below fix the
state of the work at that moment. That is what a before-state is for, and it is not amended after the
fact.

> **Later the same day, 13 September 2026.** AP54 locked at FINAL v1.0 and is published. It now has a
> row on Ø Proofs and an ordinary row of record on Ø Instruments. **None of that changes anything in
> the table below.** The draft this lodgement records is v0.16 at 72,463 bytes; the locked paper is a
> different file, 75,117 bytes, digest `347e452e…`, and it is listed under AP54's own source of
> record — not here. Row 1 stays *digest only* because the file it names is the draft, and the draft
> is not what was published.

What this is: a timestamp on the state of the work on this date, so that a later paper which claims
to have been built blind can be checked against what was actually held beforehand.

## What a hash does and does not do

A digest proves that a file has not changed. **It does not prove when the file existed.** The time
has to come from a witness outside this desk — the independent verifier's anchor, the publication
date on this page, and whatever capture the Internet Archive makes of it. Until one of those exists,
these digests fix the content and nothing else, and this instrument says so rather than implying
otherwise.

Two witnesses were asked for on the same day: the verifier's anchor, and publication as a dated
draft here. Either alone is enough; both are better, and they are independent of each other. **As of
this lodgement the verifier's anchor has not landed** — his anchored proof repository carries nothing
later than the AP49 bundle of 6 September 2026. This page's publication date is therefore the only
witness standing, and that is stated rather than glossed.

## The nine files

Seven are published here with their bytes. Two are not on the machine that built this page, so
their digests are published and their files are not — which is the instruction, and which costs a
reader nothing except the ability to check those two today.

`SHA256SUMS.txt` in this folder lists the seven published files in the form `sha256sum -c` reads.

**To verify:** run SHA-256 on the file and compare it with the row. A difference of a single byte
changes the digest entirely.

## What each one is

**1 — AP54 Seeing Alpha, DRAFT v0.16.** Thirty-seven pages. Fourteen roads to the value: twelve
closed with locus and reason, two open with their prices. The definition, the refusal, the protocol
and its measured denominator, the switches, the dated notes, the arithmetic. Unlocked, unarmed,
nothing frozen.

**2 and 3 — the describings.** Version 1 is the author's picture as first written, with four
conjectures withdrawn the same day printed beside it. Version 2 is the same picture after three
collisions with locked papers were removed: the word for the hold, the currency of an exchange, and
the cause of the vibration. Both are lodged: the first is the record of what was said, the second of
what stood.

**4 — The Ripple Construction, 13 September 2026.** Road Fourteen's construction as it stood on the
day the before-state was fixed, lodged with the rest so that the paper which grows from it can be
checked against it.

**5 — AP43 Dated Notes, 13 September 2026.** The lean coefficient's unit fixed without α, and one
sentence of AP43 narrowed. Beside the locked body, not in it.

**6, 7, 8 — the working instruments of 12 September:** §10's final text on what does not derive the
value; the audit closures and corrections; the reviewer brief.

**9 — For WC, Three Wall Corrections, 12 September.** The instrument that corrected the α²
coefficient on this site. All three of its corrections were made and are live.

## Why this lodgement exists

Road Fourteen has a price and the price is a blind test: recover the proton's second-order term and
the neutron's flip cost from the ripple alone, without their measured coefficients. **A blind test is
only blind if what was known beforehand is fixed beforehand.**

These nine files are that before-state. They contain the describings the ripple paper will build
from, the corrections already made to them, and the register of every road already closed. Anything
the ripple paper later claims can be checked against them, by anyone, without taking this desk's word
for what was held on 13 September 2026.

## What is recorded about the two that are digests only

**Row 3 was one of them this morning, and is not any more.** A file named *The Atom in the Hourglass
v2* was on hand at **12,158 bytes**, digest `8f69747c…` — eighty bytes short of the lodged version and
sharing no character of its digest. It was withheld, because publishing a near-miss under a lodged
digest would have made the lodgement worthless while looking exactly like success. The lodged file
itself arrived with the publication pack later that day, at 12,238 bytes and the digest in row 3, and
**that** is the file now published. The near-miss was never served.

For rows 1 and 7 — the draft at v0.16 and the audit closures — no file of that size exists anywhere on
the machine. Their digests stand and their bytes are owed.

*Frozen files are never edited; corrections supersede, dated, in the open.*
