1 Axiom

You are reading this sentence. That is a record. Trying to deny it would require the reading to happen, which would make another record, which would prove the reading happened. There is no position you can stand in where the reading has not occurred.

One record exists. These words are the proof.

Four conditions follow. Not four assumptions — four properties the reading already has.

Symmetry (S). Two sectors held in mutual reference. The minimum structure for any distinction.

Break (B). One element of asymmetry between them. Without it, no information could ever be written.

Record (R). What has happened cannot unhappen. The reading cannot be unread.

Constraint (C). A record is somewhere, not everywhere — the condition of locality, what makes here different from there. Bounded propagation is what Constraint produces, not what it is. In our universe, the speed of light.

Written out in the form S, B, R, C require, the axiom is this:

Compressed, it is written 1:1 + 1×ε @ AS — or, shorter still, 1:1 + 1×ε. The compressed form is unchanged; the bracket is the flow written out.

The 1:1 is perfect symmetry. The ε is the break. The @ AS names where the break is — at the Actualization State, the now where the substrate is held and the break is processed.

Written as the cycle that runs at AS: 1:1 + 1×ε @ AS [+α | −α]. The break (+1×ε) is the persistent distinction potential — held by AS, irreducible, what protects S from collapsing back into undifferentiated Ø. ε is what holds S open: without the break, the two sectors are no longer distinguishable, and S as a structural condition collapses. The grain of sand makes the two glasses of water distinguishable; remove the grain and they are just two glasses with no way to tell them apart.

The α-flow runs around the held break — +α leakage outward as actualisation (records being written), −α replenishment back as defragmentation (records releasing their structure into potential), balanced at every AS-instant, net zero. α is the symbol; its value, one part in 137, is the one measured input. The break does not cycle in and out; what cycles is the flow. A reader inhabits the writing direction of the flow, where records are being committed at AS.
