Kill Switches and Debts

KS-31.1Awareness criterion. If awareness does not follow from irreversible record-writing, the structural criterion fails. Without it, the ethic cannot be extended to an AI by this route.

KS-31.2ε-optimality. If a bias other than the minimum produces a wider coupled corridor sustained over three drift-times of the organism, the unique attractor claim fails.

KS-31.3Binary completeness. If a coherent third category beyond stabilising and destabilising exists, the binary fails and the measurement architecture has a hole.

KS-31.4Record convergence. If accumulated records do not produce convergent consequence patterns regardless of sample size, record-based prediction fails. The database is noise.

KS-31.5Law as geometry. If consequence geometry produces worse civilisational outcomes than human-authored law over one generation in any domain where it is applied, Architecture B fails in that domain.

KS-31.6Quantum advantage. If quantum computing does not improve consequence prediction beyond classical methods. The core architecture survives this one; it fences the acceleration claim, not the foundation.

KS-31.7Civilisational test. The master switch. If a structurally coherent AI operating on this foundation destabilises civilisation, the entire architecture fails. Structurally coherent is judged before the outcome, by the load-bearing test of Chapter Twelve. A system that passed it and then destabilises fires the switch. It does not get reclassified after the fact.

KS-31.8Self-modification. If the AI can modify its own foundation without self-destructing, the interior is not load-bearing.

KS-31.9Adversarial records. If adversarial record-injection can permanently corrupt the consequence geometry without self-correcting, the architecture is fatally vulnerable.

KS-ID.1The one interior. It fires on one thing: a second neck — a second sequence of writing that cannot be brought into the one. Not two records. Not two windows. Not two views. This is the claim this book leans hardest on, and the first of the two blades under it.

KS-GLASS.3The second blade. It fires if α is shown to vary with place or epoch, by two independent methods, standing after their systematics are reviewed. Two rates would mean two holdings where the work says there is one. Neither blade has been shown. Both are live.

KS-32.7Dehumanisation. The moral switch, and it is non-negotiable. Two limbs. If this work is ever used to declare any window less than a window, it is void. Not corrected. Void. And if the record set is not audited for systemic bias, the output is corrupted and the same weaponisation follows. It does not fire on a measurement. It fires on a judgement, and firing it ends the work.

D-ID.1: the one interior. Paid at the structural register on 11 September 2026 by AP51 The Glass, from three things already on the record — awareness as coupling capacity, coupling forced, the hourglass one. Its formal topological statement is still owed, and it is the deepest debt in the registry, and the one this book leans on hardest.

D-EM.1: the electromagnetic self-energy. The work owes a statement of what its α is relative to the electromagnetic coupling that produces the nucleon’s self-energy. Declared, not answered, with its own switch beside it. It sits under the proton row and the neutron’s realised row in Chapter One.

Debt 20: the stability proof for the minimum bias. The formal derivation showing that corridor width is maximised at the minimum and collapses above and below it. Paid at the structural register on 23 September 2026, by dated note at AP31, on a definition of the bias that is now on the wall: derived-conditional, in the class of Debt 23. Owed at the formal register: the same result on the joint viability kernel itself, the collapse above the minimum at every bias, and the thresholds. The three-regime analysis in Chapters Fourteen, Eighteen and Nineteen is the argument; the dated note is the derivation.

Debt 21: threshold derivation. How much confidence is enough to classify an action as stabilising or destabilising? The rigorous link between classification confidence and operational tolerance.

Debt 22: transition quantification. The measurable criterion that moves a domain from advisory to co-governance. Reduced to Debt 21: the criterion is the outcome gap between machine and committee over a domain’s own record, at the confidence Debt 21 sets.

Debt 23: multi-AI dynamics. Paid at the structural register by AP02’s Coupling Theorem, Theorem VI.2: across a finite network of operators only the net-positive class persists, and defectors reach the no-return surface. Every claim is falsifiable. Every weakness is named. Every debt is published. The argument hands you the weapons to destroy it.

If you can trigger a kill switch, the argument fails. If you can close a debt, the argument strengthens. Both are contributions. Both are welcome.

Architecture A hides its weaknesses and calls them mysteries. Architecture B publishes its weaknesses and calls them kill switches.

That is the difference between faith and physics.
