Record number density n(x) defined (equation 3.1). Identification with matter density ρ(x) = n(x) · ⟨E⟩/c² (equation 3.2) under The Lock. Properties inherited from axioms: ρ ≥ 0 from R, causality from C, electron coupling from B.
You have a manifold.
You have records.
The question is: how many records are there at each point?
The answer is a number. That number is the density.
And that density — as you are about to see — is indistinguishable from what physics calls “matter.”
Under EH, each record r in the algebra embeds as an event e(r) on the manifold M.
The embedding preserves causal order (Axiom R) and the rate bound (Axiom C).
Define the record number density:
n(x) = lim_{V→0} N(V) / |V| (3.1)
where N(V) is the number of embedded records in a spacetime volume V containing the point x, and |V| is the proper volume.
A scalar field on M.
Epistemic status: identification, conditional on The Lock (ε = electron).
Every record is an ε-event (Axiom B). Records emerge through the break, and Axiom B specifies ε as the unique element responsible for the break; every record formation event therefore involves ε by construction. The full structural argument for record-formation-via-ε lives in AP01; AP08 inherits the result. The empirical handle on the identity (whether all matter sources from accumulated records) is KS-I.5.
Under The Lock’s identification ε = electron, every record involves an electron coupling event. Every coupling event involves energy exchange.
The energy associated with accumulated records at a point x is not a separate quantity from the energy density of matter at x.
The mass density ρ(x) and the record density n(x) are related by:
ρ(x) = n(x) · ⟨E⟩ / c² (3.2)
where ⟨E⟩ is the average energy per record.
A statement of identity.
The matter density and the record density are two measurements of the same quantity, in different units.
From R (Record Monotonicity). ρ(x) ≥ 0 everywhere. Records accumulate; they do not annihilate. The density cannot go negative.
From C (Constraint). Changes in ρ propagate at most at speed c. The density field respects causality.
From B (Unique Breaking). Every record involves ε. Under The Lock’s identification, the density is denominated in electron coupling events.
