Section 5
A gate is a completed exchange worth α, not a single vertex. A conjunction at the neck: product over sum. Independence claimed and fenced on the shared-condition counterexample. The worth α an identification. Gravity one object in two roles. The neck never counted.
AP28 called the product “a mathematical fact about independent events”. That was the assumption. Here is the fact about the neck that replaces it. Here is the identification it cannot replace.
Claim. The per-gate worth α is the corpus’s identification (AP06 §10.7; AP28 Proposition 5). This paper does not derive the number. Around it, three things are derived or ruled. A gate is a completed exchange — a writer and a reader, e·e, two vertices. So it is worth α, not a single vertex, √α. The twenty-one are a conjunction at the neck. So they compound as a product, not a sum. The product needs the passages independent. The corpus claims that at the structural register and fences it on its own counterexample.
Intuition. A grain does not choose one of twenty-one doors. It must pass all twenty-one at once, at the one neck, now. Gravity is the ring, not one of the doors. Requirements conjoin. Alternatives interfere. And each door is a handshake. A coupling nobody reads is half an event: one vertex. Half an event has no reading. A whole handshake, two vertices, is worth α.
Givens. AP28 §4 and Propositions 3 and 5. AP06 §10.7. AP24 Face 3 (e² in α’s numerator). AP25 (record-weighted selection). The author’s rulings of 8 September.
Ruling — a gate is a completed exchange (the author). “The record configuration can only be read by a record configuration as a record configuration.” A coupling with no reader is half an event. It has no reading. A coupling read is one event. α is the worth of one completed exchange: e·e, the pair, two vertices (AP24 Face 3). e alone, √α, is one vertex. Half an event. No reading. In the author’s words, “the rate reading is the reading relative to the record history”. Outcomes at the neck are weighted by the landscape (AP25). That is a statement about completed exchanges. It is not about interfering halves. The value stays identified. The kind of quantity a gate contributes is his, with a reason.
Theorem — a conjunction, not alternatives (derived). Gravity is the neck. The twenty-one are not alternative paths a grain might take. They are twenty-one gates it must pass at the neck, in the one now, all at once. Alternatives interfere. Their amplitudes add. Requirements conjoin. Their measures multiply. So the coupling through the gates is a product, not a sum. That is the fact that gravity is the ring and not one of the gates through it. Conjunction does not decide what each gate contributes. That is the ruling above. It stays there. AP28 §4’s sentence comes out by dated note. Both of these go in.
Claim — independence, and its switch (stated, fenced). A product of twenty-one α’s needs the twenty-one passages to be independent events. Suppose the gates opened together on one shared condition. Then the joint passage would be at α, not α²¹. In the author’s words: “it passes at and as α, coupling the coupled record.” AP28’s Proposition 3 argues independence from the independence of the faces and the dimensions. The picture says why those are the right independences. A gate is one face through one dimension. Or the now through one face of the landscape. Nothing else is at the neck. What the picture supplies is the count of exchanges: the eighteen ropes and the three guides of AP48 §1. What it does not supply is that the eighteen ropes are eighteen exchanges rather than one holding read eighteen ways. That is the independence claimed. In the picture, a shared condition would be the eighteen ropes pulling on one state of the landscape, so that one gate’s passage fixed the others’: then one exchange, worth α, and the exponent collapses. The bridge from independent faces to independent passages is a claim at the structural register. It is not a theorem. It is the only claim of its kind in this paper. KS-R.8c is rewritten to fire on exactly the counterexample. If the passages are shown correlated, the exponent changes. The count does not.
Ruling — the gate is a coupling by necessity (the author). “Without coupling capacity, a record is impossible and unreadable — it is not a maybe condition — it is forced by the act of both reading and writing — only a held (coupled) record can be read.” A gate is not a place where coupling might occur. A gate is a coupling. What the picture cannot force is the number.
Theorem — gravity’s two roles, and the count. One reviewer asked how G can be among the six readings whose product gives G. Gravity is one object in two roles. The count uses one role. The G-face is a reading of the landed grain. It is what stabilises the grain. It is one of the six constraints. It passes the neck like the other five. It is three of the eighteen. It enters as a face, never as a value. Gravity as the neck is what holds the reading conditions in place. “What keeps the hourglass intact.” The ring at which all twenty-one converge. The neck is not a gate. It is what the gates compound to. The value of G is what the ring gives. It is not a term in the product that gives it. No circle. In the author’s words, as description and not as a number: “alpha only holds the phase coupling in the visible universe; gravity holds the entire hourglass in place.”
Grade. Product over sum: Derived. A completed exchange: Ruled, with the author’s reason. The per-gate worth α: Identified. Independence: Stated at the structural register and fenced. The two roles: Derived from the definitions.
KS-R.8c (AP28) — Fires if the joint passage of the twenty-one gates is shown to be other than α²¹: a power k < 21, the gates conditioned on a shared event; or any dependence among the gates, of any order, pairwise or higher, that changes the joint measure and does not reduce to a shared face (AP24) or a shared dimension (AP10). Or the eighteen ropes of AP48 §1 shown to be one holding read eighteen ways — one exchange, worth α, and the exponent collapses. The old clause could not fire. This one can. A third party can state what would fire it. By dated note.
KS-R.8d (AP28) — Fires if any gate is shown to contribute other than one completed exchange, α. A single vertex, √α. A worth that differs from gate to gate. A worth that is not the fine-structure constant at zero momentum transfer (§10). Restated as the fence on the identification. By dated note.
Connections. The completed exchange is what §6 prices: one act, one α. It is what AP51 reads: the reader is the second grain. The conjunction is why the exponent is the count. The identification is why the base is measured.
The exponent is where the structure is. The base is where the one measured input is. The paper says both, so neither is mistaken for the other.
