Section 7

Where It Acts, and What It Is Not

§7 — α is not a count. RULED, with AP45 §6's fence inherited.

The three windows written at the now are where the cut acts. They are not what α is. α is the transparency of every window, the eighteen held ones included — AP46 §6 gives each held door one part in 137, and that is where α⁻¹⁸, the cycle, comes from. If α were the three, the eighteen would carry something else and AP46 would lose its α. So this paper does not say α is three channels, or six at the cut and three at the hold. It says: one grain, written through three windows at the now, at α per window.

The author ruled the phrase on 13 September 2026 and it is recorded here because it has been read as a claim about α and is not one. Six at the cut and three at the hold counts ropes, not couplings: three gravity ropes, three resistance ropes — the GR-six of §0.9 — and three ropes of the Actualization State. Those are the author’s three groups and the paper adds no gloss to them; which group does the holding is AP50’s question and not this paper’s. A rope count and a coupling are different kinds of thing, and nothing in this section moves on the ruling.

Edge-on there are no counts at all. One neck, one rope, one grain, one tick, one return, two bulbs — the two sides of the hourglass, the potential above the neck and the actualised below it. Every integer the corpus produces — the three, the four, the six, the twenty-one — is a front-view object. If α is read from the side, it is not a count of anything. It is a shape or a rate: grain to rope, neck to rope, flow to leak. That rules out a whole class of derivation before anyone writes it (§10 Road Two).

AP45 rules the same fence from the other end and this paper inherits it. The denomination could not have been the constraint, because bounded propagation prices no crossing, and the constraint's reading sits among the nine channels that never close. The channel counts are geometry, fenced from arithmetic, generating no fraction, connected to nothing they do not name.
