Artist’s Proof 54. α seen from the neck — the cut fraction, read once, the same at every window; every road to its value that closes, and the two that do not

In the author's words.
Alpha has been keeping me awake at night, for months. It is a dimensionless number, and it is incredibly hard to derive. Richard Feynman called it “one of the greatest damn mysteries of physics”, and I agree.
Today, after spending far too much time on it, I can see alpha and describe it. Deriving it — well, that is another story.
Here is my perspective on alpha. I have thought more about it than about anything else in physics.

Claim. the two views read one cut fraction and differ by exactly one grain per now, the pupil, and by nothing more.
Test. structural — if the number of windows firing at one now moves the cut fraction, or if the front-face event coarse-grained differs from the side-view event by anything other than that one grain, α does not belong to the one Actualization State.
Claim. if a normalisation of the neck is ever constructed under §11, it is unique.
Test. two inequivalent normalisations satisfying every stated condition and returning different couplings.
